How it works
- Add your PDF: drag it onto the page or pick it from your device. You will see its pages as thumbnails.
- Choose how to split it: every page as a file, by ranges like 1-3, 4-7, 8, or every so many pages. The thumbnails show which part each page goes to.
- Press "Split PDF" and download the result: a PDF if there is a single part, or a ZIP with all the parts. Everything happens in your browser.

Frequently asked questions
Is it free to split a PDF?
Yes. You do not need an account or to install anything, and the resulting files have no watermark.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is read and split in your browser, on your own device, so we never receive or store your document. The thumbnails of the pages are drawn in your browser too.
In which ways can I split a PDF?
Three: every page as a separate PDF; by page ranges, for example 1-3, 4-7, 8, where each range becomes a file; or every so many pages, for example every 5, with the last file taking whatever is left over.
How do I write the ranges?
Separate them with commas: "1-3, 4-7, 8". A single number is one page and two numbers with a dash are a range. Ranges may overlap, for example 1-5, 3-8. The tool tells you if one names a page the PDF does not have or runs backwards, like 7-3.
Do I download a PDF or a ZIP?
If there is a single part, you download a PDF. If there are several, you download a ZIP with numbered files, like document-1.pdf, document-2.pdf, so they sort properly when you open them.
Will the quality change when I split?
No. Pages are copied as they are, without recompressing text, images or fonts. Some extras that belong to the whole document, such as bookmarks, links to other pages or fillable form fields, may not carry over to the new files.
Can I split a very large PDF?
There is no fixed limit. Because everything is processed on your device, the practical limit is the memory of your browser: with PDFs over about 150 MB the tool warns you that it can be slow or fail, especially on phones.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Not directly: its password has to be removed first. The tool tells you if the PDF is protected.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. It works in any up-to-date browser, on computers, phones and tablets.
